Want to be a Better Communicator – Learn to Shut Up.

How many times do you speak like this?

“Hey Steve, I understand you didn’t follow-through on the customer order yesterday. Can you tell me what happened?”

THEN – when Steve is working on his response, YOU chime in with possible reasons!

“Was something taking too much time instead? Did you forget? Did your assistant drop the ball?”

TIP: Don’t answer a question you just asked someone! Let them answer.

START.

START.

Starting the new year right may mean getting a solid footing on the process of ‘STARTING’ altogether. I have written about how starting helps with the finishing in a previous post – so I am backing up a bit now, and addressing the ‘starting’ process itself.

But these skills are lacking nonetheless and to be a smart, degreed individual unable to manage life as we know it – is a bit of a tragedy. Those of you older than this demographic may find these skills useful too.

Embracing Change!

Embracing Change!

I am not speaking about the kind of change as in, “change of season,’ or ‘change your mind’ or ‘change who you are,’ but just how change can be a good thing and often a challenging thing – especially when decision-making is not your strong suit.
