What would life look like if you finished your ‘To Do’ List?

BORING and OVER!

A list means you have a PURPOSE – you have things you get to do!

So, stop beating yourself up for having a running list of things to do – that’s great! There are places you bring value and can have impact! Celebrate that you are needed and that there are things you get to do!

Embrace having things to do! Yes, those lists can certainly become overwhelming at times, but learning to manage and prioritize what is on them is the solution. That is doable. Change your mindset around your list (and having multiple lists all over the place is NOT the solution by the way) and be grateful that you have things to do that are meaningful and important – or dare I say – fun and interesting.

If you haven’t established a place to reliably keep your tasks – then do that first and foremost. It can be an app or a spreadsheet, or if you are really desperate or have a small list – a word document or heck, even an index card! Whatever system you decide to use – stick with just one. The problems people come to me with are generally center around massive overwhelm due to multiple lists. Those lists can be anywhere from on their computer ‘somewhere’ to napkins, scraps of paper, journals, notebooks, and sticky notes.

I have one word for you: Consolidate!

Get everything in one place…yes, I know – that will be equivalent to a huge slap in the face of ALL those things you haven’t done yet but, news bulletin: Those things aren’t done whether you acknowledge them by putting them in one neat and tidy place or not.

So, create awareness of what is still outstanding and you might just notice that you have several items listed in more than one place – so the list isn’t as long as you initially thought. Yay! Not so terrifying any more, right?!?
